Sonos

Retail Concept & Full-Scale Prototype
(2014 - 2015)

Agency: HUSH
Creative Lead: Benjamin Gray
Production/Technical Lead: Eric Alba

An inviting future vision of the modern hi-fi shop, from the paragon of whole-home wireless audio.

Over 18 months, HUSH developed concepts to inform Sonos’ first foray into permanent, direct-to-consumer retail. With the core principles of “attract,” “inspire” and “amplify,” concepts of customer journey and interaction, store layout and fixture design were born.

With fabrication and technology partners, HUSH designed and built a full-scale, interactive prototype lab for Sonos as a long-term UX Testing and employee training center for their global retail expansion.

This incubation period determined foundational architectural gestures, UX principles, interactive technologies and the site for Sonos’ first flagship store in SoHo, New York City in 2016.
